Nadine Reynolds’ silk paintings feature in a new exhibition, Affect / Effect, that will be on display at Goombungee’s Rosalie Gallery from March 6-28, 2024.
The exhibition brings together a collection of four series of works – Little Rocks, At Home, Do You Know Your Place? and Meeting Place.
Together they explore ways of capturing fleeting moments and memories, highlighting the significance of transient experiences.
Working across mixed media, including en plein air sketches, embroidery and silk painting, Nadine creates works that move with the viewer, alluding to flow and change.
Her layered works are personal records of who she has met; where she has been; what she has seen and ultimately how these things have affected her.
Nadine embraces the imperfections of these mediums and unexpected nature of working quickly to explore the nuance of memories and feelings that are just out of reach.
Nadine, who is a Toowoomba practising artist and art educator, regularly exhibits in the Toowoomba Region and has works represented in private collections in Toowoomba, Brisbane and Canberra.
Nadine has attended numerous workshops with nationally renowned and local arts practitioners, including Abdul Abdullah, Delvene Cockatoo Collins, Michael Zavros, John Honeywill, Cara-Ann Simpson, Kim Walmsley and Dan Butterworth.
The exhibition’s artist talk is at 1pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024. This is a free event, with no bookings required.
An En Plein Air workshop with Nadine Reynolds will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024. It is open to anyone 16 and older at a cost of $30 per person. Places are limited and bookings are essential.
