Applications now open for 2024 Community Leadership Program
Greater Shepparton locals interested in developing and strengthening their community leadership potential are invited to apply for the 2024 Community Leadership Program.
Celebrating its 11th year, the Community Leadership Program is tailored to nurture emerging grassroots community-focused leaders.
The program is a unique opportunity for community members to enhance their leadership skills and build the capacity for personal and professional development as community leaders.
The 2024 Council funded program consists of seven engaging workshops, carefully designed to build participants’ capacity across various essential topics, such as:
Communications Preferences Community Leadership Public Speaking Goal Setting Monitoring Understanding Community and Diversity Reflection and Resilience Cohort Designed TopicThis comprehensive curriculum ensures that participants gain a well-rounded understanding of community leadership. The program is scheduled to kick off in May 2024, with sessions held in person, providing participants with the opportunity to fully engage with the content and network with their peers.
The 2024 program has limited availability, with only 20 places open for aspiring community leaders. Applicants must be 18 years or older and applications open on Monday 4 March 2024. The deadline for applications is Monday 1 April 2024.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, emphasised the program’s role in investing in individuals who aspire to contribute positively to the community.
“The program equips participants with the knowledge and tools required to become effective community leaders. If you have a passion for leadership and a commitment to the community, I encourage you to apply for this program. It is a very rewarding initiative,” he said.
