Wyndham City invites feedback on the draft Woodville Place Plan that is guided by the vision to cherish connections between “people, place and nature”.
Extensive consultation in 2023 in Woodville found that locals wanted safer roads and public spaces; new business such as cafes and restaurants; improved community spaces and family events, which resulted in the inclusion of 10 key actions in the draft plan.
These actions include improvements to pedestrian safety, drainage, beautification works, lighting and new facilities, alongside exploring the possibility for community activations and events.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera, welcomed the draft plan, saying the way neighbourhoods were built has changed since Woodville was first settled in Hoppers Crossing.
“It’s one of Wyndham’s oldest neighbourhoods, times have changed and we want to see better connections to reach important places and socialise and improved perceptions of safety,” she said.
