Tuesday, March 19 – Saturday, March 23, 2024 Be immersed in the Urban Oasis in Queen Street Mall this March. This pop up parklet offers an opportunity for you to immerse yourself in lush plantings and to reconnect with the soothing benefits of nature. You are invited to take a moment out of your day to sit and soak up the green urban space, filled with flowering annuals and native plants.Spending time in green spaces offers many health benefits including reduced stress, improved mood, a stronger immune system, and better sleep. This urban oasis has been created to offer a space to immerse yourself nature and take a moment to take a deep breath and relax. Hidden throughout the lush plantings are bug hotels for beneficial insects, and a beehive full of native stingless bees that will be busy at work.The Urban Oasis will also house The Forest Symphony, an interactive artwork that allows you to trigger sound when you interact with plant life, using the electrical circuit formed between yourself, and the flora.This activation will be in the Queen Street Mall from 19-23 March from 10am to 5pm, and include a series of events.
