There is an exciting opportunity for aspiring or established artists to feature their work at Hive Tasmania, located in Ulverstone.
As the region’s first cultural precinct, Hive was inspired by the concept of a beehive. It serves as both a community hub and a drawcard destination for visitors to the region.
Hive is now seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individual artists, artist groups, curators, or community groups to feature their work in the Gallery from 2025 to 2026. It is also seeking EOIs for the Ground Floor Circulation Space.
EOIs open Friday, 15 March 2024, and will be accepted up until close of business Monday, 22 April 2024.
“I am thrilled to announce the opening of the Expression of Interest period for the Hive Art Gallery Exhibition Program.” Said Mayor Cheryl Fuller
“With 32,177 people visiting Hive during the 2022/2023 financial year, this is a fantastic opportunity for artists and curators to bring their innovative visions to life, all while contributing to the cultural vibrancy of our region.” She said.
Hive usually features one EOI in the Gallery per year. However, occasionally, there might be more than one opportunity. In this case, artists are usually drawn from existing EOIs submitted during the programming period.
“We look forward to seeing the exciting proposals that emerge from this call out and the impact they will have on our cultural landscape.” – Said Mayor Cheryl Fuller.
Submissions can cover a variety of work including interactive, installation or digital art. Expressions of interest are also welcome from people who do not have a full body of work, as they can be brought together with other artists to create a joint exhibition.
The Exhibitions Committee will commence the selection process from Friday, 14 June 2024. Successful EOIs will be notified by 5 July 2024.
