Volunteer Fremantle Facebook group promotes opportunities to make Freo an even better place to work, live or visit. The Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre regularly programs engaging workshops to learn about Aboriginal culture including craft, arts and language classes. For over 30 decades, The Meeting Place has provided culturally diverse women access to health and wellbeing support services. The community centre offers a wide range of unique courses, workshops, events and talks reflecting Fremantle’s diverse community. Fremantle Arts Centre is an inclusive space where everyone’s welcome. All exhibitions are free, and the beautiful grounds are a popular gathering space for people from all walks of life. Fremantle Visitor Centre provide visitor information across the City and at the Fremantle Visitor Centre. Volunteers who speak more than one language wear a flag pin to indicate what language they speak. Fremantle Leisure Centre organises accessible swimming lessons for people with disability. Samson Recreation Centre hosts the Social Inclusion Program to assist and support individuals with a disability to access mainstream sport or recreation clubs in their local area. Fremantle Library hosts a weekly ‘Safe Space’ for LGBTQIA+ teens and their allies to join in fun activities and good conversations The City’s Positive Ageing Program, including the Forget-Me-Not Memory Cafe, provides vital support and strengthens community connections for the over 55s community.Find out more about WA Harmony Week and how you can get involved.
