Town Appoints Two New Directors to Executive Management Team

The Town of Cambridge is pleased to welcome two new Directors to the Town’s Executive Management Team.  Luke Gibson commences as Director, Planning and Community Services and Lisa Clack as the Town’s new Director, Corporate and Commercial Services on 25 March 2024.

Mr Gibson brings almost 20 years’ experience in urban and regional planning to the Town, with almost 15 years in leadership roles across planning and community development portfolios. Most recently, Mr Gibson served as interim CEO at The Town of Bassendean, where he also served as the Director of Community Planning since 2019.  During this time, Mr Gibson led the Town of Bassendean’s four-year project to have their draft Local Planning Scheme No.11 adopted, with the draft Scheme now with the Minister for Planning for signing.

Ms Clack joins the Town with more than 25 years’ experience within both State and local government, primarily in leadership and executive roles. Prior to joining the Town of Cambridge, she has spent the past five years leading in regional local government, and most recently served as CEO for the Shire of Merredin, where she oversaw the $10 million redevelopment of the Merredin CBD project, including sourcing additional funding for capital projects from both the State and Federal Government.

Town of Cambridge CEO Gary Tuffin welcomed the new appointments, stating it provided ongoing stability for the Town’s Administration.

I am confident that together, we will redefine the customer experience through strategic enhancements to both our internal processes and external interactions, resulting in the delivery of higher levels of customer service.” he said.

“I would like to thank our outgoing A/Director of Planning and Community Services Fraser Henderson and A/Director of Corporate and Commercial Services Vicki Cobby for their contributions to the Town while in these roles. Fraser has provided much needed support to the Town’s Planning and Community Services team since October 2022. Vicki has also led the Corporate and Commercial team through a significant period in 2023, completing three financial audits in a 12-month period.”
