Wyndham City is calling for feedback on proposed new Building Design Principles, that will help shape new community spaces including youth services, kindergartens, community centres, arts facilities and libraries.
The three new Building Design Principles aim to create Council facilities the community will enjoy visiting when they participate in services and programs.
The three principles are as follows:
Accessible and Inclusive - Our buildings aim to be places that are welcoming to all and able to be used by people of all abilities.
Functional and Flexible - Our buildings aim to be places that can adapt to our community’s needs.
Sustainable and Innovative - Our buildings aim to be places that will support Wyndham City’s sustainability goals and will be influenced by best practice.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera thanked those who participated in the first round of consultation on the Building Design Principles in 2023.
“Their feedback has helped shape the three new Building Design Principles,” she said.
“As Wyndham continues to grow, we will need more facilities to meet the needs of our community and we aim to create spaces and offer services that help everyone in the community to be healthy and happy.”
“Building design plays a big role in making sure the community has a good experience as they receive the services and programs they require and enjoy.”
