Pop-Up Collection in the Max Ballroom

The Bank Art Museum Moree (BAMM) pop-up exhibition will officially open on Tuesday 2 April, showcasing selected works from BAMM’s permanent collection.

On display are over 40 paintings by some of the most important artists of the modern Aboriginal art movement such as Rover Thomas, Lily Kelly Napangardi and Paddy Williams. Other important artists showcased include Joe Furlonger, Euan Macleod (who were both involved in the Painted River Project), along with one of Australia’s senior female abstract painters, Ann Thomson. Significant local artists are represented by Pauline Briggs, the late Margaret Adams and the late Ellen Draper.

Many of these works of art have been generously donated to the BAMM Collection over the past 40 years and now contribute to the finest collection of Aboriginal art in regional New South Wales.

Council encourages the community and visitors to pop into the pop-up exhibition and continue their support of BAMM, who have worked extremely hard to ensure their wonderful collection remains on display over the coming months whilst Council completes much-needed accessibility and climate control upgrades to the Frome St gallery.

The BAMM art programs and classes have been temporarily relocated to the Moree Community Library at 36 Balo St Moree while the gallery is closed.

The exhibition will be held in the Chandelier Ballroom on Level 1 of the Max Centre, 30 Heber St Moree, with free entry for all visitors. Opening hours will be Tuesday to Friday 10am – 4pm and Saturday 9am – 12pm for the duration of the pop-up exhibition.

Please contact BAMM on (02) 6752 1401 for all pop-up exhibition enquiries.
