The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) expects there will be a further rise in the height of the Warrego River at Cunnamulla overnight on Thursday. The BOM will provide more information on the expected height as the flood water progresses, however, it is a possibility the river height will reach 9.5m at which point the Cunnamulla Bridge will be closed. Updates will continue to be provided as more accurate information is presented as the catchment flows.

It is possible residences along Weir Road and those that border the river may become isolated. Please ensure you have enough medications, groceries, bottled water, fuel for generators etc. to accommodate for the short term access issues.
The Mitchell Highway between Wyandra and Charleville is closed to traffic today, Tuesday 9th April. Travellers can check on road conditions on local Council websites or through the TMR website www.qldtraffic.qld.gov.au. Please be mindful to only take alternative routes should you be familiar with the roads you are travelling as these may be wet and boggy and cause safety issues.
