Lithgow City Council is inviting feedback on the ‘Seven Valleys Destination Action Plan’. The Destination Action Plan (DAP) is a future-focussed document that provides a framework and actions to strengthen Lithgow’s future as a unique tourist destination.
Extensive tourism industry and community consultation has taken place in the development of the draft DAP. Further feedback is now invited from across the local tourism industry and community to ensure that the plan represents key opportunities and to identify pathways for growth.
Mayor Maree Statham said “As a community, we want to establish the Lithgow and its Seven Valleys as a must visit destination. The Seven Valleys Destination Action Plan provides for this, creating a path for the growth of tourism and the visitor economy in our LGA. It is based on deep research and developed with input from the local tourism industry. It is a realistic plan that recognises the unique attributes of Lithgow, leveraging these to set Lithgow apart from its peers.”
“This is not a plan that Council can bring to life without collaboration with local businesses”, continued Mayor Statham. “Council will be working closely with the wider tourism industry to realise the opportunities identified within the Destination Action Plan.”
The draft Seven Valleys DAP is on public exhibition between the 11th of April and Wednesday 8th of May 2024. Feedback will be available via an online submission form on council’s website www.ourplaceourfuture.lithgow.com
