Liverpool Council’s Motherland African Festival is back, bringing the many cultures of Africa to Macquarie Mall from 26-28 April.
Motherland is the latest instalment of Liverpool Council’s award-winning Experience The World monthly events, celebrating the diversity and inclusion of cultures across the community.
Liverpool mayor Ned Mannoun said Motherland coming off the back of the hugely successful Most Blessed Nights, which saw more than 335,000 people attend over four weekends, confirms that Liverpool has become a destination of choice for thousands of Sydneysiders coming here to enjoy the fun and colour of these spectacular celebrations.
For one incredible weekend, travel from South Africa to Nigeria and beyond, and experience the best of the African continent where music, dance, food, and timeless customs come together.
Motherland African Festival will dazzle through dance, drumming and performances, with an incredible stage show featuring performers from all over Africa.
Delight your tastebuds with food from Sudan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana and more at the street food market, and take a piece of Africa home at our artisan market.
Visitors can also get into the spirit with African drumming, hair braiding and art and paint workshops.
Come join us on our journey through the vibrant colours, rhythms, and mouth-watering flavours of Africa in Macquarie Mall.
Motherland is proudly funded by the NSW Government and sponsored by Liverpool Plaza.
