Central Highlands Regional Council is calling for community representatives to join the community grants assessment panel.
The aim of council’s community grants program is to assist local community groups to make positive contributions to the quality of life in the Central Highlands.
The assessment panel positions are for two years, with the panel meeting twice a year in March and September.
The panel reviews all grant applications to provide a recommendation to council on which projects should be funded.
Panel members will be selected based on their demonstrated involvement in community life and their local knowledge of the Central Highlands.
‘Empowering our community to actively participate in grant decisions not only ensures transparency but also fosters a sense of ownership and collective responsibility,’ said General Manager of Communities John McDougall.
‘Together, we’re not just funding projects – we’re shaping the very fabric of our shared future.’
Nominations close at 5.00 pm on Friday 31 May 2024 and can be submitted online here.
Alternatively, paper-based forms are available at any council office.
