Bold Park Aquatic (BPA) has recently installed a new portable hydraulic pool hoist, marking further progress towards enhanced accessibility for all patrons.
While creating a more inclusive environment, the new hydraulic pool hoist in the indoor leisure pool area has the flexibility to be moved to the outdoor pool.
The latest addition to the City Beach facility aims to provide seamless access to the pool's walking lanes, ensuring all users can enjoy the benefits of aquatic activities.
“We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of aquatic activities in a welcoming and accessible environment,” said Tamara Sanders, BPA Centre Manager.
“We are proud to take this step forward in our journey towards greater inclusivity, and we look forward to welcoming patrons of all abilities to experience the joy of swimming and recreation at our facility.”
The new hoist aligns with the objectives outlined in the Town's Disability Access & Inclusion Plan (DAIP), which underscores the Town’s commitment to enhancing access to its facilities and services, ensuring they are inclusive and accommodating to people with disability.
This new addition complements BPA’s existing accessibility features, including a mobile deck hoist, fixed ceiling hoist in one of the accessible changerooms, and water wheelchairs. Together, these resources significantly improve access to the pool for individuals who require assistance.
