As the vibrant heart of our local economy, small businesses in Charters Towers are set to take centre stage in May.
With an array of business events and initiatives lined up, Council is excited to celebrate the resilience, innovation, and contribution of our small business sector.
One of the highlights of the month will be the Quarterly Business Breakfast scheduled for Wednesday, 15 May.
This event promises to bring together entrepreneurs, innovators, and community leaders to network, share insights, and celebrate the Charters Towers Business Community.
Guest speaker and sponsor, Paul McIver, proprietor of Goldtower Properties, will take centre stage to enlighten attendees with his journey and inspiring insights.
Mayor Liz Schmidt expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming events, highlighting the remarkable success of Charters Towers' small business community.
"Our small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy, representing the spirit of entrepreneurship and determination... "Their resilience and ingenuity continue to drive growth, create jobs, and shape the unique character of our town.
“Small Business Month provides us with an invaluable opportunity to recognise and celebrate their achievements", said Mayor Schmidt.
In addition to the Quarterly Business Breakfast, a marketing workshop, a “Doing Business with Council” session, and the annual Careers Day will be held throughout May, aimed at empowering small business owners with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive in today's competitive landscape.
"We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Small Business Month and to show your support by shopping local," Mayor Schmidt concluded.
