City of Hobart honours the Anzacs

The City of Hobart takes great pride in its continued support of the annual Anzac Day commemorations.

Once again, the historic Hobart Town Hall will host dignitaries and provide a vantage point for Tasmania’s foremost ceremony and parade.

City of Hobart chief executive Michael Stretton expressed deep honour in the city's involvement, noting the solemn significance of the Town Hall's entrance, adorned with the honour board commemorating those who gave their lives in World War I — a poignant reminder of Hobart's sacrifice.

"We are steadfast in our commitment to honouring Anzac Day each year," Mr Stretton said.

"The City of Hobart proudly supports these commemorations not only by our prominent presence along the parade route but also through funding provided via the City Partnerships program.

"This day serves as a solemn opportunity for reflection and remembrance."

Following the Dawn Service, the traditional Anzac Day march will commence from the intersection of Macquarie and Elizabeth streets.

The parade will proceed to the Cenotaph, where the wreath-laying service will begin at 11.45am.

Anzac Day services will also be held across the state, and residents are encouraged to consult the RSL Tasmania website for a comprehensive list of events.
