Ararat Rural City is delighted to announce the recipients of the latest round of its Community Grants Program.
The program offers financial assistance to support local initiatives and strengthen community bonds. Community groups were encouraged to apply for grants of up to $5,000 on a two-for-one basis, available in four categories: sports/recreation and health/wellbeing, culture and arts, environment and sustainability, and events.
In the latest round, Ararat Rural City Council awarded six projects with grants totalling $13,496. Recipients include the Ararat Early Learning Centre for their Kinder Gym Program, Ararat Neighbourhood House to support their Grampians Green Thumb Project, a program designed to increase the number of people growing their own food from home and upgrading of safety equipment at the Grampians Soaring Club.
The Community Grants Program proudly champions community-led endeavours, providing financial support to amplify engagement across sports and recreation, cultural events, arts accessibility, and sustainability initiatives.
"Our Community Grants Program is designed to empower local initiatives and uplift projects that enhance the fabric of our communities" said Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison
Applications for the Community Grants Program open four times each year and will be advertised through all media channels and directly with community groups.
