The Helendoite Road Bridge project has successfully concluded after three months of diligent works.

Envisioned as part of Council’s 2023/2024 capital works program, the bridge was formed and installed using the award-winning, Australian-made InQuik Bridging System, which uses modular sections to accelerate construction while giving exceptional structural integrity.

Commencing early this year with the demolition of the existing bridge on January 11, works continued throughout February and March with the bridge’s barrier completed on April 4, and the road opened to traffic shortly thereafter.

Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison, describes the project as “part of the vital agricultural transport link to Lakuput Grain Storage and other storage facilities to the south of the municipality,” adding that the bridge also holds “significant importance” to the community in forming part of the school bus route for Maroona Primary School.
