City of Parramatta will donate $10,000 to support those most impacted by the recent Bondi Junction stabbing attack.
A $5,000 donation will go towards supporting the victims and their families and $5,000 has been allocated to The Junction Neighbourhood Centre, a community organisation providing support services in Bondi.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Pierre Esber, who led a delegation of Sydney mayors to lay wreaths at Bondi Junction following the incident, said the Parramatta community extends their deepest condolences to the victims, their families and the wider community.
“Our hearts are still aching for the victims, their families and everyone who has been impacted by this incident,” Cr Esber said.
“We are all a part of one Sydney – and when one community is hurting, we all feel it. This is a way we could show tangible support for those most impacted.
“We recognise the community members and first responders who showed great bravery in the face of danger, as well as those who continue to support victims’ services and recovery efforts.”
At the recent Council Meeting, all in attendance observed a one minute silence to pay respects to the victims.
