Wyndham City is proud to announce Tanika Fry as the One Wyndham recipient for May.
Tanika is a proud First Nations and Pasifika young person who is an inspirational and outstanding cultural leader and role model in the community.
Tanika is involved in a range of community activities and events that engage young people and foster positive connections.
She supports and assists initiatives that encourage young people to connect with their culture and raises awareness of the importance of cultural understanding and knowledge.
She is a passionate member of Nesian Youth and a key organiser that helped organise this year’s successful Nesian Rise event.
Tanika’s passion to assist young people has extended to participating in youth committees, Young Mob program in schools and leading activities for Reconciliation Week, Harmony Week and Multicultural Week.
Also volunteering as an MC and helping arrange the Cultural Celebration night, a Cultural runway event hosted by Wyndham Youth Services and the Wyndham Humanitarian Network.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Jennie Barrera said: “Wyndham City appreciates Tanika’s effort and commitment supporting young people through a range of initiative’s in Wyndham.”
“Tanika is an inspiring role model and Wyndham City thanks Tanika for her all the work she does in Wyndham.”
One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
