Annual Plan and Budget Estimates 2024 -2025 Community Feedback
The Burnie City Council is inviting feedback from the Burnie community on its draft 2024-25 Annual Plan and Budget Estimates as part of a 4-week public exhibition process.
In order to ensure our community can be informed about what the Council plans to do in the upcoming financial year, there will be three (3) pop up information sessions for you to come along to hear about the Annual Plan and Budget Estimates from the Director Corporate and Commercial Services, Bel Lynch. There will be an opportunity to ask questions to help inform your understanding of what is proposed, so that you can then undertake the survey to provide your feedback. The sessions will be held as follows:
Burnie Community House, Shorewell Park – Thursday 16 May 2024
Commencing 11:30am until 1pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Burnie Beach Hotel – Tuesday 14 May 2024
Commencing 12pm until 1.30pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Upper Burnie Memorial Hall - Thursday 16 May 2024
Commencing 5:30pm until 7pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
In addition, there are other ways to ask your questions and get the information you need to inform your opinions on our proposal:
An online webinar meeting is available to join on Tuesday 21 May 2024 commencing at 5:30pm until 7pm. Further details will be provided closer to this event. Ask your questions on our Facebook page and then each week, watch the Q&A session where your questions will be asked and responded to.Mayor Brumby said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for Council to hear your thoughts on what we have proposed for 2024-25. We value everyone’s input and know that diversity of opinion achieves the best outcomes for all.
“While it is simply not possible to cater for every suggestion made - we will ensure that every suggestion submitted through the community feedback process is considered before determining the final budget which we expect to be tabled to the Council meeting on 25 June 2024. At that time we will report back to the community on the feedback received and our associated response.”
Your feedback can be provided through the online survey where you can comment on matters such as:
