The Role:
Our Compliance Investigation Officer delivers building and planning compliance and advisory services to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and take or recommend appropriate action to be taken on behalf of Council. Additionally, this position will assist with the annual Trade Waste inspection program.
What we are looking for:
You will have trade qualifications or experience in the building construction industry particularly for sheds and dwellings or in a compliance related position You will have an understanding of, or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of the current laws and policies relating to building and development, including interpretation of Planning Schemes and the associated documentation pertaining to the Building Act 1975 and Building Code of Australia You will hold a General Construction Induction Training Card (previously called a white card), or national equivalent, or be eligible to acquire You will hold a Current Queensland Class “C” Driver’s Licence You will have the ability to act and think appropriately under pressure You will have excellent time management and problem-solving skills You will have very good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate positive outcomes with external customersWhat we can offer you:
