Annual community and event grant programs now open

Community groups and event organisers are encouraged to boost their community project or local event by applying for Council's annual grant opportunities - the 2024/25 Community Grants Program and the 2024/25 Event Funding Program.
With a combined funding pool of $270,000, these two opportunities have the potential to transform ideas, both big and small.
With a strong focus on the valuable activities of community groups within the Alpine Shire, the Community Grants Program aims to increase connection, invite sporting access and participation, revitalise our local environments, and contribute to thriving communities.
Both new and existing groups are encouraged to apply, including - but not limited to - sporting groups, Landcare and sustainability groups, Traditional Owners, and young people.
The Event Funding Program invites applications from event organisers wanting to develop vibrant experiences for residents and visitors for events held between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.
Diverse events have the potential to strengthen communities, increase visitation, and stimulate economies. With this in mind, this opportunity is committed to supporting a wide range of community and tourism events.
In 2023/24, these two opportunities supported 59 community groups and event organisers, with grants ranging from $550 to $10,000.
Both grant programs are hosted by the SmartyGrants online grant management system. This user-friendly system encourages efficient management of the grants process for Council.
The maximum funding amount for both opportunities is $10,000. Applications close at midnight on Sunday, 16 June 2024.
