Council's Local Laws team undergoing transitional phase

Gannawarra Shire Council is asking residents to be patient with its Local Laws services as this service undergoes a transition.

The team, which looks after animal management, municipal permits, school crossing supervisors and the management of municipal laws, is managing with limited resources due to employment vacancies.

During the transition period, the Local Laws team will prioritise core emergency services, including immediate responses to situations involving livestock incidents and ongoing animal attacks.

“Our team is committed to maintaining public safety and addressing these critical incidents with the urgency and effectiveness that our community expects,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“We are actively working to resolve the staffing shortage and anticipate a return to full-service capacity in the near future. In the meantime, we appreciate the community's understanding and patience. Council remains focused on delivering essential services and ensuring public safety during this period.”
