Moree Plains Shire Community Elders Honour Roll

Moree Plains Shire Council is calling for submissions from members of the public who know of any Elders in our community who have been building cross-cultural understanding through employment or training initiatives, education, partnerships or by engaging with their local community, or made contribution to what Moree Plains has become today and who should be included on the Elders Honour Roll located at the Moree Banquet Hall.

The Elders Honour Roll, which was established in 2017, is a tribute to both Non-Indigenous and Indigenous elders within our Shire who have made significant contributions to the fabric of the Moree Plains, particularly within the realm of reconciliation.

Elders Honour Roll recipients will be acknowledged during Reconciliation Week, at Council’s Aboriginal Dhiiyaan Centre, Wednesday 29 May from 10am.

Nominations can be submitted online or alternatively, you can obtain a hard copy from The Moree Community Library or The Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre (DAC).
