An ingenious one-stop event which will connect community organisations with fresh volunteers is on the cards for Volunteer Week – and it’s expected to embody the Week’s slogan for 2024, ‘Something for Everyone.’

“Be bold!” says Fr Martin, one of organisers of the hotly anticipated Volunteer Expo. “Volunteering can be so rewarding. It helps us learn to articulate ideas, socialise, and think outside the box. It can even be a stepping-stone in your career.”

If you’re already a proud member of a community volunteer group, the Expo is your opportunity to exhibit the group’s mission, share the heart of your cause, and speak to potential new group members about the incredible impact volunteers can make.

To secure your spot, contact Fr Martin Nadarajan at Holy Trinity Ararat by Monday 20 May, either by email ([email protected]) or phone: 03 5352 1109.

If you aren’t yet part of a volunteer group, you could uncover your new passion – not to mention new friends – at the Expo! Come explore the many opportunities available from the region’s various groups, which are just waiting for your unique skills and enthusiasm. Foster meaningful connections, directly impact the lives of your community, and contribute to the ripple effect of positivity which volunteering your time and energy creates.

“Volunteering offers a fantastic chance feel the sense of belonging that makes rural life so special,” says Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison, “and our community thrives when residents are actively involved. By volunteering, you're not just enriching your own life – you’re investing in a vibrant and supportive future for the lives of those around you.”
