BOGGABILLA HOSTS COUNCIL MEETING
Council hosted its May Ordinary Council meeting at the Boggabilla TAFE yesterday to allow community members an opportunity to come and speak at the public forum and join us in a big morning tea to raise valuable funds for cancer.
Mayor Mark Johnson joined Elder Dawn Dennison in the planting of a tree to mark the remembrance of the multi faculty Head Teacher, Kay Hannan.
While in Boggabilla, Councillor's took the opportunity to attend the Euraba Paper Company, where a group of local Aboriginal artists from Boggabilla and Toomelah, specialising in hand made paper art and original design paper products, using locally grown cotton rag offcuts and other local fibres as the basis for their artworks.
Cr Mark Johnson, Cr Susannah Pearse and General Manager Kelvin Tytherleigh, along with Director of Planning and Development Darryl Fitzgerald, met with Toomelah resident Rex Werribone to discuss the planning process for an access ramp for the community.
