It’s time to recognise all the wonderful volunteers in Wyndham!
National Volunteer Week 2024 runs from Monday 20 May to Sunday 26 May and is the largest annual celebration of Volunteering in Australia.
This year’s theme is ‘Something for Everyone’highlighting the diverse passions and talents that everyone brings to volunteering and there is a place for everyone in the world of volunteering.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera, said: “National Volunteer Week is an opportune time for us to say ‘thank you’ and reflect on the significant role that volunteers play in our communities.”
“Wyndham City acknowledges and recognises the outstanding contribution that volunteers make in Wyndham.”
“In recognition, Wyndham City will be flying Volunteering Flags throughout our city for the month of May.”
“On behalf of Council and the wider community we appreciate the role that volunteers play in our community, who give their time for good and the betterment of society without financial gain.”

“Volunteers play a vital role assisting others and make a significant contribution to the community. They help in a wide range of ways, emergency services, helping out at sporting clubs and associations as well as preserving and protecting the environment. Some raise money for local charities and others visit socially isolated people that are lonely and need companionship.”
