Friday, May 24, 2024, 10 – 11am Each year since 1998 Noonga has hosted Sorry Day ceremonies, on or around 26 May, at the Stolen Generations memorial site in Kalinga Park, Kalinga.The site was chosen because it sits in the vicinity of homes and institutions where Aboriginal children were taken from families between 1897 and 1970.Please join Noonga Reconciliation Group for their annual Sorry Day event at the Kalinga Park "Sorry Site".This is a day of remembrance for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who have been forcibly removed from their family and community due to government policy- the Stolen Generation.We will also celebrate the resilience of First Nations people and their commitment to truth telling and sharing of cultural knowledge.There will be light refreshments from 10am and the ceremony will begin at 10.30am.
