Council is calling for passionate young people to nominate for the Federation Youth Council for 2024 / 2025.
Federation Youth Council is open to 12–25-year-old young people who live, learn, or work in the Federation Council area.
Mayor Councillor Patrick Bourke is encouraging young people to consider joining the Youth Council.
“Youth Council is great opportunity that provides young people with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills, help organise youth driven events and activities, support local initiatives, attend leadership conferences and meet new people,” Councillor Bourke explains.
There are nine Youth Councillor positions, including a Youth Mayor and Deputy Youth Mayor. They will serve for 12 months.
The Youth Council meet for an hour and half each month for meetings and workshops to discuss youth issues, organise events and take a leading role in driving change for youth in the community. Members can join face-to-face or online.
Applications for Youth Council are now open and close at 5pm on Wednesday 31 July 2024. If this is something you're interested in, we encourage you to apply!
