FUTURE OF THE NYABING PAVILION AND NYABING TOWN HALL
Shire of Kent 21 May 2024

Council have engaged a quantity surveyor to estimate the cost of repairing the current Nyabing Pavilion. To address the damages and ensure public safety, the repairs are estimated to cost approximately $650,000. Council is considering three options for the Nyabing Pavilion:

Option 1:           Repair the damages to its current state at noted estimate value of $650,000

Option 2:           Build a new multi-purpose facility with the project being in the vicinity of $1.5mil – $2.5mil

Option 3:           Demolish the current building, leaving a vacant site.

Additionally, the Nyabing Town Hall has shown signs of rising damp, causing damage to the walls and flooring. While this issue is not as severe as the damage at the Pavilion, it has prompted Council to reconsider the costs associated of maintaining multiple facilities with low usage. We are exploring whether a more strategic and collaborative approach should be taken.
