Table Top Mountain Walk to be closed for landslip remediation works

Toowoomba Regional Council is closing the city’s Table Top Mountain Walk, and ancillary access walks, including Road Reserve Trail and Stevenson Street Trail, to public access from early June to late August 2024 to allow landslip remediation works to be completed.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said the remediation works along Table Top Drive were part of the 2022 Flood Recovery Program.

“Closing the walking trails is the safest option while the works are completed, as the road closure required for the works along the narrow Table Top Drive, could delay emergency access if required,” Mayor McDonald said.

“Residents are advised to check Council’s website when planning their activities for updated information on the closure of these walks and details of escarpment trails that are open. For details, please visit www.tr.qld.gov.au/trails

“These landslip remediation works are part of several landslips being worked on across our Region, repairing damage from the 2022 flood events.

“Works will be completed at two locations along Table Top Drive addressing two landslip sites affecting the road.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we complete these important remediation works.”

Assistance for the projects is provided through the jointly-funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
