Council is inviting submissions from local businesses and the community on a Discussion Paper that summarises findings to date from the Colac Visitor Servicing Review.
The Discussion Paper provides an overview of the region and the role of tourism organisations as well as current service provision.
The Discussion Paper explores changes in visitor behaviour and uses examples of success in other locations to provide multiple options for future service delivery of visitor services in Colac Otway.
“We are asking local business owners and community members to review the document and provide feedback that will assist Council’s consideration of future visitor servicing,” Community and Economy General Manager Ian Seuren said.
“We are hosting sessions for the community and business groups next week and would welcome input and suggestions. You can find the discussion paper in the ‘Have Your Say’ section of the Council website with directions on how to make a submission.”
A community drop-in session will be held at COPACC on Tuesday, June 4 between 5.15 and 7pm.
A workshop for businesses will be held on Thursday, June 6 at COPACC between 5.15 and 7pm. You can register for the workshop by emailing [email protected]
“We are seeking feedback on investment in visitor servicing, influences on traveller planning and length of stay, and models of visitor servicing that might benefit Colac in the future,” Mr Seuren said.
“This is an opportunity to challenge the way we currently do things and consider alternative approaches to ensure we connect with visitors and encourage them to stay and enjoy the attractions of the region.”
