Public notice: Speed cushions trialled at Borilla and Loch streets roundabout

Posted on June 3, 2024

Central Highlands Regional Council will trial rubber speed cushions on the approaches to the roundabout at the intersection of Borilla and Loch streets in Emerald.

The installation will take place between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm on Wednesday 12 June 2024.

Access for vehicles and pedestrians will be provided at all times during the works.

The speed cushions are pinned to the road and can be easily removed by council.

This trial is in response to a number of speed-related road traffic crashes at the intersection.

Rubber speed cushions have a very low impact noise profile and are regularly used in residential areas.

As part of the trial council has been undertaking noise monitoring at the intersection and will undertake further testing after the speed cushions have been installed.

If you require any further information please contact council on 1300 242 686.
