The Shire
Situated on the Great Southern Highway, Cuballing is 190 kms southeast of Perth, between the regional centres of Pingelly and Narrogin in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. Cuballing is primarily an agricultural area and includes large tracts of the Dryandra State Forest.
The Role
The Council is in search of a highly motivated, experienced, and performance-focused Chief Executive Officer. As the Chief Executive Officer, you will have a strong commitment to the Shire’s organisational values, be progressive and have a solid sense of community, ensuring effective relationships and communication with Councillors, staff, community, and other stakeholders. You will be working closely in consultation with the Council to initiate and implement strategic and service delivery plans for the Shire, manage existing projects and develop future project opportunities that serve the Shire.
The Requirements
To meet the challenges and opportunities of this role, you will require a sound background in Local Government with the ability to display a high level of strategic planning skills. You should display knowledge of corporate management and have proven leadership experience with planning and delivery of major capital projects. Working closely and in consultation with the Shire President and other Elected members, you will also be required to demonstrate experience in developing and maintaining strategic relationships and partnerships with key government and non-government agencies, businesses, organisations and the community.
This role will appeal to a candidate with proven leadership skills at a Senior or Executive level within a Local Government environment who is currently in a CEO position or someone looking to take the next step in their career. This is a great opportunity for someone with an understanding of the overall function, operations and adherence to the local government procedures and legislations and understanding of the current issues facing regional and rural communities.
The Package
Employment is offered under a performance-based contract of three to five years. An attractive remuneration package in the range of $156,780 to $240,396 per annum (including salary, super, private use of a fully maintained vehicle, utilities in accordance with SAT band 4) will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience. In addition, Council will provide rent free executive housing plus reasonable relocation expenses.
