The City of Fremantle will host the 2025 WA Tourism Conference, bringing together 250 industry delegates from across Western Australia over three days.
Organisers made the announcement at this year’s ceremony on Tuesday night. The 10th iteration of the event will take place from 26-28 May 2025.
Fremantle has been awarded gold for local government tourism at the awards for the past three years running. It was also inducted into the WA Tourism Hall of Fame last year.
City of Fremantle Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge said Fremantle was the perfect place to host the conference in 2025.
“Fremantle is a world-class tourist destination. We’re thrilled to welcome industry leaders to our port city to showcase all we have to offer,” Mayor Fitzhardinge said.
“The 2025 WA Tourism Conference offers a wonderful opportunity not just to show people what we do here in Freo, but also to learn from other tourism destinations across our amazing state,” she added.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said the conference partners were looking forward to bringing the 2025 WA Tourism Conference to Fremantle.
“The 2025 WA Tourism Conference is expected to attract more than 250 delegates from across Western Australia and make a significant economic impact on the local destination,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to showcasing the City of Fremantle to tourism businesses and industry delegates from across Western Australia, who will then promote the destination to potential visitors,” he said.
The WA Tourism Conference was introduced in 2015 as an industry-wide event and is now co-hosted by a number of industry associations including Tourism Council WA, Visitor Centres WA, Caravan Industry Association WA, Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC) and the Forum Advocating Cultural and Eco Tourism (FACET).
