The Emerald Saleyards stands as a vital regional asset servicing the region’s more than 2.6 million cattle. The Emerald Saleyards Advisory Committee provides guidance on the Emerald Saleyards’ strategic direction, compliance, infrastructure, and promoting of the facility.
The committee met including new council members Cr Robert Donaldson (Chair), Cr Racheal Cruwys, and returning council member Cr Joseph Burns.
Cr Robert Donaldson expressed his enthusiasm for the committee’s future endeavours. ‘I am looking forward to supporting the Emerald Saleyards and seeing what our advisory committee can achieve during this term of council.’
‘The Emerald Saleyards are equip with 228 selling pens, state-of-the-art double decker loading ramps, and offers a comprehensive range of services including spelling, dipping, feeding, weighing, tagging, and selling. Owned and operated by council, the facility caters to sellers, buyers, and agents from a vast catchment area. This area spans thousands of square kilometres, reaching as far as Cloncurry in the north, Barcaldine in the west, Rolleston in the south, and Blackwater in the east’
