Stand for Council Information Session

When: Monday 15 July, 7pm – 9pm

Where: COPACC (95 – 97 Gellibrand Street, Colac)

Please register for the information session before 5pm Wednesday 10 July 2024, visit https://www.colacotway.vic.gov.au/Council-the-shire/Our-Council/Local-Government-Elections/Information-for-Candidates/Candidate-Information-Sessions  or email [email protected] or contact Council by phone on (03) 5232 9400.

The candidate information sessions are organised by Colac Otway Shire Council and will be delivered by independent facilitator Jenny O’Connor.

Jenny has campaigned extensively as a candidate in Local, State, and Federal government elections. She has been successfully elected for three terms as a councillor in local government and was the Mayor of Indigo Shire for four years. She is very familiar with the landscape of Victorian Local Government and the rewards and challenges of being a rural Councillor and Mayor. Jenny is committed to supporting women and candidates from diverse backgrounds in getting elected by training them to understand what it takes to deliver an effective campaign. She shares her stories from the ‘front line’ of her various candidate experiences and inspiring anecdotes about why someone could think about standing for politics.

Jenny brings a wealth of hands-on campaigning experience and can provide a perspective from having campaigned in elections at every level of government, both as a party member and as an independent candidate. Jenny shares her wisdom as a board member and is an active community member in Beechworth, North Eastern Victoria.
