Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is progressing with landslip remediation works on Flagstone Creek Road between Spring Street and Burraway Court as part of the 2022 Flood Recovery Program.
TRC Construction and Maintenance portfolio spokesperson Cr Carol Taylor said that local residents had been eagerly awaiting these remediations works, and now that the designs had been completed and works approved, remediation had begun.
“The work includes extending the existing gabion wall to encompass the slipped area, and reinstating the earthen fill behind the gabions,” Cr Taylor said.
“These landslip remediation works are part of a number of landslips being worked on across our Region, repairing damage from the 2022 flood events.
“Works will take approximately six to eight weeks, weather permitting, and a temporary single lane closure with traffic signals will be in place to safely manage traffic flow.
“We encourage residents to continue to take care around road work sites, noting changed traffic conditions and following the instruction of traffic management personnel to ensure the safety of the community and our work crews.”
Council is appreciative of the assistance that has been provided through the jointly-funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
