The $13.7 million centre, designed to be flexible, sustainable and innovative, will cater to diverse community needs, providing a safe and welcoming space for residents to connect and access local programs, closer to home.
The centre boasts three kindergarten rooms, complete with play spaces and essential amenities, alongside three maternal child health consulting suites.
Additionally, the facility houses two multipurpose community rooms, two meeting rooms, a community kitchen, as well as storage and office spaces.
Kindergarten services are scheduled to commence for the first term of 2025, marking a significant milestone in enhancing early childhood education accessibility within the community.
Deputy Mayor Councillor Josh Gilligan expressed enthusiasm for the centre as it will become a great asset for Wyndham City.
“We are thrilled to see the vision of Lollypop Creek Community Centre come to life as this facility embodies our commitment to cater to the diverse needs of our growing community,” Cr Gilligan said.
“Looking ahead to the commencement of kindergarten in 2025, this facility will play a crucial role in providing children with a nurturing environment to learn, grow and thrive.”
Wyndham City thanks the Victorian Government’s Building Blocks Grant for their $2.5 million grant and the Growing Suburbs Fund for contributing $1.3 million to the centre.
