The Town of Cambridge hosted the Healthy Lifestyles & Tech Savvy Seniors event at the Boulevard Centre on 17 July 2024.
Organised by Cambridge Senior Services in partnership with the Seniors Recreation Council of WA and key stakeholders. Sessions and workshops on healthy living and digital literacy were offered, where more than 120 attendees engaged with experts, received health advice, and learnt essential digital safety skills.
There were 24 staffed information booths offering material and advice on a variety of services and activities for seniors to support them in leading a healthy, safe, and independent lifestyle - plus a live podcast by Mite Radio.
Mayor Gary Mack praised the event's impact and subject-matter importance.
“It's great to see our senior community members learning about healthy lifestyles and digital safety. Educating our residents about cyber scams is crucial as more activities move online,” Mayor Mack said.
“This interactive workshop provided valuable knowledge and connected Cambridge residents to important services and support, ensuring they left the seminar feeling more confident using their smart devices and understanding cyber scam risks.”
Participants valued the informative content provided and the chance to connect with peers and industry experts.
