In the heart of the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Facility, a vibrant spectacle unfolded on Tuesday, July 9th, as the Shire of Coolgardie proudly fielded their team for the CommonHealth Games. Amongst the cheers and camaraderie, the Kambalda contingent led by the indomitable Wendy, rallied together for a day of spirited competition and joyous celebration.
Wendy, with her infectious enthusiasm and natural leadership, guided a team of remarkable seniors: Jan, Joan, Dahma, Bonny, Jenny, Ned, and Kea. Their journey was not just about medals, but about forging bonds of friendship and experiencing the thrill of healthy competition.
The day began with an official welcome and the stirring notes of the national anthem, setting the tone for what would be a day filled with joy, laughter, and friendly rivalry. The atmosphere was electric as the Kambalda team took on challenges with grit and determination.
