Applications for Yass Valley Council’s 2024/2025 Local Heritage Grants Program are now open, with $20,000 in funding available for heritage conservation projects.
Local Heritage Grants aim to contribute to the preservation of structures of historical value and to foster positive attitudes towards heritage and conservation.
The Yass Main Street Masterplan has been adopted, and building owners in the main street of Yass are strongly encouraged to apply this year to complement this project. Projects may include painting, restoration repairs to awnings or removal of redundant signage – projects that will improve the appearance and heritage values of the Yass Main Street.
There is an upper limit of $4,000 for each Local Heritage Grant and in each case the grant must not total more than 50 per cent of the cost of the project or initiative.
If you do wish to apply for a grant it is advised that you speak with our Heritage Advisor, contact can be made through Council on 6226 1477.
