Wyndham City is proud to unveil Connecting Wyndham, the biggest local government investment in our roads in the City’s history.
As part of the initiative, Council will invest nearly $250 million in 10 road projects across the next five years, with a further $102 million earmarked for an additional four road projects over 10 years.
Connecting Wyndham will improve mobility, reduce congestion and foster community wellbeing.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Jennie Barrera, said transport and roads across the municipality was one of the community’s biggest ticket items.
“Connecting Wyndham is more than just an infrastructure upgrade; it's about investing in our community's future.”
“We want to make it easier and safer for Wyndham residents to travel within our city, connecting to family and friends, as well as work and leisure.”
“This 10-year plan will unlock our transport potential, enhancing connectivity and accessibility across Wyndham.”
"It highlights our commitment to Keep Wyndham Moving by Connecting Wyndham, ensuring that our city remains vibrant and accessible for all."
The roads designated for major upgrades and duplication were based on present and future traffic movement data and assessment of their current conditions.
Wyndham City is also partnering with the Victorian Government on a $5 million citywide transport plan to look towards the next phase of road and transport projects.
The Connecting Wyndham package reflects Wyndham City's proactive approach to infrastructure development, aiming to meet the growing demands of a dynamic community while enhancing quality of life.
