Small Business Hub program expands to second Redlands Coast site
Redland City Council 31 Jul 2024

The Redlands Coast Small Business Hub program is set to expand into a second location, building on the success of the city’s inaugural hub at Cleveland Library.

Redland City Council, in partnership with the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT), will begin offering free information sessions for small businesses at Victoria Point Library from 1 August.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said sessions would be held at the new Victoria Point hub on the first Thursday of every month from 10am–2pm, with meetings also available online and over the phone.

“Our small businesses are vital to the Redlands Coast economy, providing jobs for our people, attracting investment into the region, and delivering essential goods and services to the community,” the Mayor said.

“We want to ensure these businesses have every opportunity to succeed, which is why Council and DESBT have partnered to expand the Small Business Hub program into the southern end of the city from August until early December.

“These hubs are designed to provide an avenue for business owners and prospective business owners to discuss their needs and goals and access resources to support their business ventures.

“The Victoria Point hub will build on the success of the Cleveland Library hub, which has provided information and assistance to dozens of businesses across the city since commencing operation in March 2023.

“Two Redlands Coast hubs operating in tandem means more support for local businesses.

“Whether you’re just starting out, need support to employ staff, or simply want assistance with growing your business, our team can assist.”

The Cleveland Library hub will continue to operate on the third Thursday of every month from 10am–2pm, meaning that across the two hubs, sessions will be offered every fortnight on Redlands Coast.

The Small Business Hub involves DESBT officers and Council’s Economic Development team providing a range of services, including:
