New round of Rise Up Central Highlands is open for applications

Posted on July 31, 2024

If your shopfront could do with a facelift, you could be eligible for some financial help from the Rise Up Central Highlands grants.    The grant program provides financial support to commercial business owners and community members wanting to upgrade their business shopfronts or activate underused places.

This program is part of council’s overall strategy to stimulate investment in the Central Highlands region.    Mayor Janice Moriarty encouraged businesses to take up the opportunity to apply for funding.

‘Council offers resources to help with your grant applications. Don’t miss this chance to brighten up the appearance of your business. Reach out and take advantage of the support available,’ she said.

The three open grant streams are as follows:

Historical upgrade – for restoration projects on buildings with historical significance (up to $10,000)  Façade upgrade – for streetside visual improvements (up to $2000)  Placemaking – for creating spaces where people can gather (up to $2000)

The grants are now open for applications via chrc.smartygrants.com.au until 31 October 2024. There is a fourth stream for a development application fees and charges rebate. Applications for this category will open at a later date.
