The Role:
Our Ganger Construction & Maintenance assists the Foreperson in the delivery of daily road maintenance and construction activities within the Shire by directing and supervising the activities of the work group they are responsible for.
The role involves physically demanding work to be undertaken in a hot and humid climate on a daily basis. As such it is the responsibility of the Ganger Construction & Maintenance to ensure they are physically fit and able to efficiently and consistently undertake these tasks. This includes a requirement to maintain their weight at or below the Safe Working Load (SWL) for the seat of the machinery and equipment the position is required to operate.
This role will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
What we are looking for:
You will have good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution You will have sound knowledge of road maintenance and construction procedures and be able to interpret and analyse plans and specifications You will have good organisational skills to meet deadlines and satisfy customer demands You will have sound computer skills and be able to use the Microsoft suite of applications such as Outlook, Excel and Word You will be able to work with limited supervision and be able to problem solve on the job You will have knowledge of WHS and Environmental Legislation and Local Authority practices and proceduresWhat we can offer you:
