Wyndham City is calling on residents to get in early to avoid lengthy queues at the Wyndham Refuse Disposal Facility (Werribee tip), with tip tokens due to expire on 30 September.
Tip tokens, which are included in rates notices, can be used as payment for one car, ute or trailer load of rubbish brought into the tip at 470 Wests Road, Werribee.
The waste may include up to two mattresses and four passenger vehicle sized tyres.
Additional mattresses, tyres and other waste items such as gas bottles in that load will incur additional charges.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Jennie Barrera, urged residents to get in early and use their tip tokens now to avoid the late September rush.
“Utilising your tip token is a great way to rid your property of the clutter that piles up throughout the year – and with Spring just around the corner, it’s the perfect opportunity to give your house a big Spring clean,” Cr Barrera said.
Renters and residents who have already used their tip token can exchange one of their three hard and green waste collection entitlements for a tip token.
Similarly, residents can exchange their tip token for an additional hard and green waste collection.
Residents that have lost their voucher, or are unsure if they’ve used their 2023-24 voucher, are encouraged to call Council on 1300 023 411 for assistance.
