Arts around August 2024 edition is in full swing with more activities ready to take off!
There is a variety of upcoming events and activities for the months of August and September including Queensland Ballet workshops, family history workshops, Japanese Pottery and more.
The annual program is also getting a rebrand, with members of the public invited to submit ideas for a new name for the popular festival.
Councillor Gillian Wilkins, chair of council’s Central Highlands Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee (CHACAC), said council were seeking names to to better represent the Central Highlands region, showcasing the diverse range of vibrant arts, culture, and heritage activities and events.
‘The Arts Around August Festival is growing each year and needs to be recognised as a major seasonal event of the Central Highlands,’ said Cr Wilkins.
‘The idea of rebranding is to be inclusive of the arts, cultural and heritage events that will be represented at this time of year, every year.
‘I encourage everyone to hop onto the Have Your Say site and enter the competition – there’s $150 up for grabs for the winning entry!’
Submit your ideas via the Have Your Say, Central Highlands page here.
