Ararat Rural City Council is pleased to announce that registrations are now open for families who wish to enrol their children into the future Lake Bolac Childcare Centre.

Lack of childcare has been a significant issue for Lake Bolac and the surrounding communities, which Council has been working hard to resolve. This exciting next step comes after childcare provider Ararat Early Learning Centre Pty Ltd, and developer E2E Growth Consultants Pty Ltd, have agreed to work together to progress plans for the new Childcare Centre.

Families can register their children for places at the future Lake Bolac Childcare Centre via this link: https://www.trybooking.com/CULSG

Your registration details will enable the childcare provider to begin the process of planning how the service could operate to best meet the education and care needs of the children, and to begin developing the workforce necessary to delivering its services.

The childcare provider and developer are aiming for an official opening date in late 2025. This timeframe is subject to planning and service approvals.

The Childcare Centre itself is estimated to create 10 new jobs for Lake Bolac, as well as support primary carers from around 40 local families to increase their participation in education and training, employment, or running the farm. Additonally, the Centre will take pressure off families who are juggling childcare between different services and family supports.

Access to childcare in Lake Bolac will help local employers and services with recruitment efforts to fill vacancies where the preferred candidate and their family need access to childcare.

Families with children will be more likely to relocate to and stay in Lake Bolac, which will help keep services and businesses in the region.

“We are very delighted to have a well-regarded local childcare provider and a community-minded developer on board for this critically important initiative,” says Dr Tim Harrison, CEO of Ararat Rural City Council. “The economic and social flow-on benefits and impacts of the Lake Bolac Childcare Centre on the local community will be immense.”
